Who is Fedor Rocco

Fedor Rocco (Gradac, 11 July 1924 – Zagreb, 12 January 2011) was a Professor Emeritus, Croatian scientist and economist who specialised in marketing, also educator and marketing expert. He was practising both theoretical and practical economy during all periods of his work. He received numerous awards for the scientific and educational work.

He gained a big reputation and status through his activities on the international scientific and professional scene and as a member of the international organisations, such as WAPOR and ESOMAR, as the first market-driven scientist from the East Europe who adopted, interpreted and developed scientific marketing concept in this part of the world.

Prof. Rocco is considered to be one of the founders of marketing theory and practice in Croatia, as well as in Yugoslavia during the socialist regime and planned economy. One of the founders of the Marketing Department at the Faculty of Economics and Business, the University of Zagreb. In 1998 was elected as the Professor Emeritus of the University of Zagreb. He is the author of the programme for the professional studies in Marketing of the Zagreb School of Business and he was the first Dean of the school, from 2006 until 2008.
